Getting Started

The following roadmap is designed to point a new user to important Help pages that provide a good orientation to ISOcat functions.

The Toolbar Icons table shows an overview of the various toolbar icons.

The Web Interface page provides a good initial orientation to the ISOcat database display screen. When you first enter ISOcat, you do so as a Guest User. You can, however, immediately register as an Expert in order to access the full array of ISOcat functions. The My Workspace page provides additional information about getting started using the Web Interface.

The page for the Data Category Specification Pane provides an orientation to basic features and to the screen display.

You can search for a specific data category using the features of the Search Toolbar.

The Basket page explains how to assemble a DCS, to save it, and to export it as a DCIF or RDF file. The Print page shows how to print out a DCS or an individual DC, and how to save a a DCS as an HTML file.

The New DC page provides detailed instructions on how to create a data category specification.

The Private Group page shows you how to create a group. These instructions can also be used by TDG Chairs when creating a TDG.

The Profile page shows how to add a profile to a DC and provides information on how to do this in a DC that is owned by another expert.
