basket
basket pane

virtual container appearing as a segmented display pane at the bottom of the ISOcat Web Interface screen in which an ISOcat user can accumulate a private selection of data categories (DC)

NOTE   For Guest Users, the basket functions as a temporary buffer within which to assemble a DCS, which is lost when the user leaves the ISOcat Web Interface, but the contents can be output as a DCIF file or in the form of an RDF representation.

Registered ISOcat Expert Users can save the contents of the basket to their own Private space, in which case this data becomes a permanent archive within ISOcat. Saved DCSs can be shared with otherISOcat experts or groups. The notion of the "basket" is analogous to (and actually uses standard solutions for) shopping basket or shopping cart software used in commercial websites.

Basket Pane

Click on a DC in the active DCS displayed in the active DCS pane to add it to the DC specification pane. Click Add to add it to the basket. Or drag it into the basket. Hold down the CTRL or Shift key to highlight multiple DCs and drag them into your basket.

Once you have selected your set of DCs, you can click the Save icon to save the resulting DCS. The system will prompt you for a name.

You can click Clear to remove the entire DCS permanently, or click the blue minus sign Remove icon to remove an individual DC.

The Export icon appears in the control bar for the basket as well as in the control bar for the DCS pane. This function enables you to export your entire DCS in one of two formats.

The DCIF option outputs a complete Relax NG representation of the entire DCS. The RDF output produces an RDF file that can incorporated into or referenced from an RDF resource.
